Chili Ginger Hot Cocoa

This is my first time trying my hand at homemade hot cocoa..let alone trying to make some kind of exotic type but you know me, I can't do anything simple.

Ingredients (these are estimations):
1  cup water
1 cinnamon stick
1 slice fresh ginger root
5 allspice seeds
7 whole cloves
1 chili pepper (cayenne or other)
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract

add cup water with cinnamon stick & ginger to boil
meanwhile grind allspice & cloves in a spice grinder and add to water.
let mixture boil for about 5 minutes and add 1 dried hot pepper (cayenne is a good choice) and boil for a few more minutes.
Add cocoa powder and brown sugar. Make sure you spill it all over the place like I did, cocoa power makes some neat sparks when it hits the heat, it's quite the show.  Oh and make sure you whisk while you add or it'll get clumpy.
Once all is mixed well add milk to liking and stir constantly until it almost comes to a boil, remove from heat and add vanilla.

This recipe is ALL but complete and needs some more work but my finished product tasted pretty sweet! (and spicey).
